Ingredients:
- 1 block extra firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1 package dumpling wrappers vegan-friendly
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, crumble the drained and pressed tofu
Add soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, chopped green onions, cornstarch, and toasted sesame seeds to the bowl
Mix well to combine
Take a dumpling wrapper and place a teaspoon of the tofu mixture in the center
Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and seal the dumpling
Repeat with the remaining wrappers and tofu mixture
Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat
Place the dumplings in the skillet, ensuring they dont touch each other
Cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes
Carefully add water to the skillet until it reaches about halfway up the dumplings
Cover the skillet and let the dumplings steam for 6-8 minutes, or until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through
Serve hot with soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice
